What we offer
We offer a few different options for 11+ Tuition.
- Year 4 small group tuition
- Year 5 small group tuition
- Holiday revision groups (Easter group will be advertised soon!)
- 1:1 tuition
Our tuition for 11+ is tailored to the Crossley Heath and North Halifax 11+ entrance exam, which is usually held within the first five weeks of Year 6.
The entrance exam has three components which are tested in three papers:
- English
- Maths
- Creative Writing
This is a change to previous years when there used to be verbal and non-verbal reasoning elements. The exam is designed to be more well-rounded and accessible for more children.
In tuition sessions, we will assess and build on your child’s current knowledge in English and Maths. We use regular assessment and communication with parents to support your child to feel confident and prepared.
We will develop their creative writing in a fun and enjoyable way with lots of creative resources!
Alongside content preparation, we will also support children to develop their time management, organisation and confidence both for the exam and for the future!
What makes us different?
- Our small groups are up to 6 children only. This is considerably smaller than tuition centres and means we really get to know the children and their areas of strength and development.
- We also offer 1:1 tuition for families who would prefer this focused individual time.
- We tailor our support to the children, we don't just follow a set scheme of work.
- We don't have a registration fee or any requirement to buy resources or subscriptions and our fees are lower than larger centres.
- We have lots of lovely English and maths resources to help children to visualise concepts and enjoy learning.
- Our nest is lovely welcoming space, a nice change from the school setting after a full day at school already!
- We run a Year 4 group and a Year 5 group.
- If you decide 11+ isn't the right path, your child can swap into the Year 5/6 boosters group instead for a boost before high school.
- Tuition costs £30 per child for 1 hour of small group (up to 6 children) tuition or £40 for 1:1 tuition at our nest in Northowram, paid by direct debit monthly. 1:1 tuition can also be online if preferred. There is no additional registration fee or resources cost.
